Manchester City Has Reached An Agreement For The Acquisition Of Girona Attacker Savio

After joining Girona on loan from Troyes last summer, Savio has made a significant impact in the Spanish top flight.

The Brazilian has appeared in 22 out of Girona’s 23 league matches, scoring five goals and providing seven assists, aiding his team’s unexpected title challenge.

Despite being under contract with Troyes until June 2027, Savio’s standout performances at Girona have attracted considerable interest.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City has reached an agreement with the French club to secure Savio’s permanent transfer this summer.

Manchester City, Girona, and Troyes are all part of the City Football Group, indicating collaborative efforts in this transfer.

Although clubs in Germany and England were reportedly interested in Savio, Manchester City seems to have emerged victorious in securing his signature.

While the transfer fee remains undisclosed, previous reports suggested that the European champions could acquire the 19-year-old for as little as £10m.

The final paperwork is expected to be completed in the coming days, formalizing the transfer for the upcoming summer window.

Savio began his career in the youth setup of Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro before making 35 first-team appearances.

Following a move to Troyes in the summer of 2022, Savio was immediately loaned to Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven, where he struggled to secure regular playing time.

Currently thriving on loan at Girona, Savio is set to depart Troyes without making a single appearance for the Ligue 2 club.

The attacker aims to play a pivotal role in Girona’s upcoming top-of-the-table clash against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Girona currently sits in second place in La Liga, just two points behind Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
